Stewart Leith, born on May 1, 1940, in New York City, New York, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, in Vernal, Utah. He was 85 years old.
Stewart dedicated his career to working at Flaming Gorge Dam, contributing to the community through his efforts there. He served his country with honor in the United States Air Force for two years, a commitment that reflected his sense of duty and service. He was a County Commissioner, fire chief, and bus driver for the high school sporting events
Stewart was a man who cherished life's simple joys. He found great happiness in camping and fishing, spending time outdoors surrounded by nature. He also enjoyed playing cards and sharing laughter with those close to him. Above all else, Stewart treasured his family and friends. His love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was boundless and brought him immense pride and joy.
He is survived by his children: Vikki Wood, Chad Leith, Stewart Leith Jr., Jacki Leith, and Wesley Slaugh. Stewart was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lynda Leith; of 35 years. his daughter Traci Leith; and son Steven Leith.
Stewart will be remembered for his warm spirit and the joy he brought to those around him. One of his favorite sayings was that he had "51 cents," a phrase that will undoubtedly bring smiles to those who knew him as they reflect on the memories they shared with him.
