It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sue Barnett, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, on January 31, 2026, in Silverton, Colorado. She was 84 years old.

Born on May 22, 1942, in Mobile, Alabama, Sue brought warmth and grace into the world from the very beginning. Over the course of her life, she touched many with her gentle spirit and steadfast devotion to those she loved. A long-time resident of Silverton and a devoted member of the Silverton Church of Latter-Day Saints, Sue's unwavering faith was a guiding light throughout her life.

Sue found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid knitter whose hands lovingly crafted countless scarves, blankets, and garments for family and friends. Each stitch reflected her care and attention to detail—a quiet testament to her generous heart. Her love for nature was equally profound; birdwatching became one of her favorite pastimes. Whether walking through the hills or sitting peacefully on her porch with a cup of tea, Sue found solace in the beauty surrounding her and often marveled at the wonders of God's creation.

Sue's legacy lives on through her family: Kim Chance and Kerry Barnett; her son-in-law, Derek Chance; and her cherished grandchildren, Keaton and Kensi Chance. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service honoring Sue's life will be held at the Silverton Church of Latter-Day Saints in Silverton, Colorado. The date and time will be shared with family and friends.

May Sue Barnett's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Memorial Gathering will be held on February 2, 2026, from 01:30 PM to 03:30 PM at Lone Tree Cemetery 1000 E Columbia Ave
