Susan Louise Lamson

Susan Louise Lamson (Wiebusch), 74, of River Falls, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love of her daughters.

Susan was born on April 10, 1951, in Red Wing, Minnesota, to Orie and Mary Wiebusch. She grew up with a strong sense of family and community that would guide her throughout her life. After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia St. Paul, Susan pursued a career dedicated to caring for others. Her professional journey included roles in early childhood education, retail, and customer service—fields where her compassion and dedication shone brightly.

On June 30, 1973, Susan married John Lamson. Together, they built a life filled with love and shared passions. Their marriage was marked by a deep connection to the outdoors and a commitment to creating lasting memories with their family. Their partnership was one of mutual respect and devotion until John’s passing.

Susan will be remembered as a woman of remarkable character—steadfast and resilient in the face of life’s challenges. Her quiet strength was matched by her thoughtfulness; she had an extraordinary ability to make those around her feel valued and celebrated. Whether it was through a heartfelt card sent for every birthday or anniversary or simply through her presence, Susan left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.

A talented quilter and gardener, Susan expressed her creativity through these passions. Her quilts were works of art that reflected her keen eye for color and design—a skill rooted in her background in color theory. Her gardens were vibrant landscapes that brought joy to all who saw them. These creative endeavors were not only outlets for her artistic spirit but also gifts she lovingly shared with those she cared about most.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, John, and her sister, Alice Olson. She is survived by her daughters, Marie Anderson-Smolinski (Brian) and Cathrine Krohnfeldt (Paul); three grandchildren, Eli, Lorilei, and Gavin; and her sisters Janet Peterson (Chuck), Anne West (John), and Carol Ulrich (Dean). She also leaves behind many friends and extended family members who will deeply miss her steadfast presence.

A celebration of Susan’s life will take place at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Glen Park Pavilion in River Falls, Wisconsin. At mom's request, we planned her celebration of life during the summer, so "the kids could swim in the pool." Please come prepared to enjoy the park and the day together as a family.
