Susan Louis VanWinkle McWilliams

Susan Louis VanWinkle McWilliams, 86, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, in Cypress, Texas. Born on December 24, 1939, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Susan lived a life devoted to family, education, and her many passions.

After graduating from Austin High School, Susan continued her studies at The University of Texas. She dedicated 22 years to teaching elementary school students in Lufkin ISD and CyFair ISD. Her commitment to education left a lasting impact on the countless young minds she nurtured and inspired throughout her career.

Susan's vibrant spirit was reflected in her many hobbies and interests. She was an avid tennis player and gardener who also expressed her creativity through painting. She cherished snow skiing adventures and traveled extensively with her husband, embracing the joy of exploring new destinations. Her love for animals was evident in the special bond she shared with her dogs.

Susan is survived by her beloved husband, Hugh McWilliams; her daughter, Stacey Kubiak; her son, John McWilliams; and her granddaughter, Jordan Kubiak. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, John VanWinkle.

Susan's memory will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved her. May the legacy of her kindness, dedication, and adventurous spirit continue to bring comfort and inspiration to all who mourn her passing.
