Susan Marie McGuire

Susan "Sue" Marie McGuire (nee Jewson), age 78 years old, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025.

Sue was born on January 6, 1947, and spent most of her life in Wisconsin, calling Waukesha, North Prairie, New Lisbon, and Tomahawk home before returning to New Lisbon for many years and living out her last years in Brookfield, WI.

Sue was a feisty, strong woman with a kind and generous heart. She had a laugh that stuck with you and a sense of humor that made people smile. Life wasn't always easy on her, but she was a tough woman and kept going forward through it all. She worked hard her entire life and always found ways to give. She lived simply and honestly, just the way she liked it.

She spent much of her life owning and working in restaurants, where she enjoyed serving others, staying busy, and just being around people. Sue also worked for many years as a teller at Ho Chunk Casino in Wisconsin Dells, a job she took pride in and made many great friends.

Music brought Sue great joy—especially Elvis Presley and old-time country tunes, which always made her smile and sing. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and every year she filled her home with decorations — figurines, garland, trees, and Christmas villages — until there was barely room to walk. It was loud, festive, and full of spirit, just like her.

Sue loved dogs and often said if she won the lottery, she would open free animal shelters so no dog would ever go hungry or unloved. Her last two dogs, Maggie and Baxter, were truly like her kids and kept her company always.

Sue will be sadly missed and is survived by her children Brenda (Pat) Murphy, Roger (Rachel) McGuire, Robin (Angie) McGuire, and Tracey (Jeff) Antosh; her brothers Michael (Linda) Jewson and Gerald "Scotty" (Minda) Jewson; and her grandchildren Riley Murphy, Alex (Katrina) McGuire, Brady McGuire, Jackson McGuire, Sam (Hannah) Antosh, Abbey (John) Zachlan, Matthew (Ruth) Antosh, Carmella, Jordan (Luke Fleming) McGuire, Alicia (Nick) Wyss, and Morgan (Trever) Reichhoff. Her great grandchildren Charlotte, Everett, Saylor, Ezra, Lucie, Lilley, Brantley, Kyler, Kamden, Kooper.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frieda and Gerald Jewson, and her sisters, Nancy Jewson McCaffery and JoAnn Jewson Winzenried, and great-grandson, Oliver John Fleming.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. until time of the memorial service at 11:30 a.m. at Brookfield Congregational Church, 16350 Gebhardt Road in Brookfield, WI 53005. A luncheon will follow the service, and all are welcome.
