Susan "Sue" Marie McGuire (née Jewson), age 78, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, in Menominee Falls, Wisconsin.
Born on January 6, 1947, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Sue spent most of her life in her beloved home state. She lived in several communities over the years—including Waukesha, North Prairie, New Lisbon, and Tomahawk—before settling once again in New Lisbon for many years. In her later years, she made her home in Brookfield.
Sue was a feisty and strong woman with a kind and generous heart. Her infectious laugh and sharp sense of humor left lasting impressions on those around her. Life presented its share of challenges, but Sue faced them with resilience and determination. She lived simply and honestly—just the way she liked it—and always found ways to give to others.
Throughout her life, Sue worked hard in various roles that reflected her love of people and community. She spent many years owning and working in restaurants, where she thrived on the energy of serving others and staying busy. Later, she took pride in her work as a teller at Ho Chunk Casino in Wisconsin Dells, where she formed lasting friendships and enjoyed being part of a vibrant workplace.
Music was one of Sue's greatest joys. She especially loved Elvis Presley and old-time country music—tunes that never failed to make her smile or sing along. Christmas held a special place in her heart; each year, she transformed her home into a festive wonderland filled with figurines, garlands, trees, and miniature villages. Her holiday spirit was as bold and joyful as she was.
Sue had a deep love for dogs and often dreamed of opening free animal shelters so that no dog would ever go hungry or unloved. Her last two dogs, Maggie and Baxter, were cherished companions who brought her comfort and joy every day.
Sue's memory will be lovingly carried on by her children: Brenda (Pat) Murphy, Roger (Rachel) McGuire, Robin (Angie) McGuire, and Tracey (Jeff) Antosh; her brothers Michael (Linda) Jewson and Gerald "Scotty" (Minda) Jewson; and her grandchildren: Riley Murphy; Alex (Katrina) McGuire; Brady McGuire; Jackson McGuire; Sam (Hannah) Antosh; Abbey (John) Zachlan; Matthew (Ruth) Antosh; Carmella; Jordan (Luke Fleming) McGuire; Alicia (Nick) Wyss; and Morgan (Trever) Reichhoff. She is also remembered by her great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Everett, Saylor, Ezra, Lucie, Lilley, Brantley, Kyler, Kamden, and Kooper.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frieda and Gerald Jewson; sisters Nancy Jewson McCaffery and JoAnn Jewson Winzenried; and great-grandson Oliver John Fleming.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:30 a.m., at Brookfield Congregational Church located at 16350 Gebhardt Road in Brookfield, WI 53005. A luncheon will follow the service—all are welcome to attend.
