Susan Grace Schlapman

Susan G. Schlapman (nee Skopek) of Waukesha, WI and formerly Cedarburg, WI and Pardeeville, WI passed away on January 9, 2026 at the age of 78, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 15, 1947 in Milwaukee, WI, Sue was the daughter of Michael and Grace Skopek. After graduating from high school, she worked as an office manager at a Piggly Wiggly grocery store in Mequon, WI. On April 5, 1980 she married Dean Schlapman (1946-2002). They lived in Cedarburg until 1998 when they moved to Pardeeville, where they owned and operated a Piggle Wiggly for many years. Sue was a loving mother and grandmother and a wonderfully kind person. She enjoyed any time spent with her grandkids. Sue is survived by her two children, Rik Helfer and Tammy Schlapman; her four grandchildren, Anthony, Azalea, Daijah, and Kyiera; her brothers, Jim Skopek (Carol) and John Skopek (Roselyn); sisters in law, Chris Skopek (wife of the late Jerry Skopek), Jean Van Dyke (Mark) and Joann Armstrong; and brother in law, John Schlapman. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brothers, Jerry Skopek and Brian Skopek.
