Susan Joan Krauss Warshaw
(1/10/35 - 12/16/25)
The world lost one of its loving and funniest women! Sue Warshaw, an aesthetically-correct interior designer, with a razor-sharp wit... a solid one handed backhand... a heart of gold... died at the ripe old age of 90.
Sweet Sue was a clever, wise, loving, liberal, generous grandma/mother/sister/aunt. She was the rock-steady, lifelong soulmate of Arthur Howard Warshaw. Sue's last words to her heartthrob of 71-years were: "I love my Arthur. You are my life!" (Antony & Cleopatra had nuthin' on Arthur & Sue!)
Sue also had a deep abiding love for her family and dear friends. She is survived by her husband Arthur, sons Steven and Stuart, and her extended family:daughter-in-Law Karina Warshaw, grandchildren Bettina, Jacob, Nicole and Rachel Warshaw, and nieces Leslie Colon, Jane Selden and Jane Ross.
Susan Joan Krauss Warshaw (daughter of Robert and Betty Krauss and sister of Gloria Selden) was born in 'The Bronx,' spending her 'wonder years' in the shadows of Yankee Stadium.
Sue & Arthur grew up together at 975 Walton Avenue. This dynamic duo would fall in love, matriculate at Syracuse University, tie-the-knot in 1954, then head to Japan in 1955 when Arthur served in the US Army.
The lovebirds returned to America and landed in New Rochelle in 1957 where they raised their two sons. Future homes included Bedford Hills, NY (1972), Longboat Key, FL (2011), Lenox, MA (2013) and finally Shelburne, VT (2020).
Sue successfully juggled child-rearing and a brilliant career in kitchen and bathroom design, with her beloved bulldogs Winston and Reginald at her side. Her firm 'HOMEWORKS' was one of Westchester County's finest remodeling companies.
Sue was one of a kind: her laugh...her ready smile...her sharp sense of humor...her unerring and impeccable sense of style...and her unsurpassed skill hosting sumptuous Thanksgiving dinners for the whole 'mishpocha!'
Long live the memory and good humor of Susan Joan Krauss Warshaw!
