It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Susie Fredrickson, 75, of Lake in the Hills, Illinois, on November 17, 2025.
Susie had a remarkable ability for brightening the lives of those around her. Her quick wit, kindness, and loving nature easily made her our favorite Aunt. Her deep affection for her family, friends, and her beloved pets was evident throughout her life.
Born and raised in Chicago, Susie spent many years as a dental assistant, always bringing humor and joy to those she worked with. A testament to her playful spirit, she made sure that toothbrushes and toothpaste were a staple in her family's Easter baskets, never missing a chance to add a little fun to tradition.
Susie's summers were spent at Illinois Turner Camp, where her cottage became the gathering place for friends and family—always the spot to relax, enjoy, and share laughter. Later, she and her husband, Bob, moved to the Florida Keys, where they lived first on Marathon Key and later settled in Venture Out on Cudjoe Key. Whether she was helping at-risk students at a local school or preparing holiday meals for loved ones, Susie's generosity, love, and warmth were felt by everyone she encountered.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy Borck; her niece, Tiffany Geier; nephew Todd Borck; niece Tamara Byrne; as well as her extended family and dear friends, all of whom will profoundly miss her warmth, humor, and unwavering generosity.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Turtle Hospital at https://turtlehospital.org/ a cause that embraces Susie's love and generosity.
A Celebration of Life for Susie will be scheduled for a future date.
