Suzanne Sullivan

Suzanne C. Sullivan (90) of San Mateo, CA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 31,1936, in Greeley, CO, to Stanley and Bernardine Stebenne, who relocated their family to Burlingame, CA, in the early 1940s.

Suzanne was dedicated to her Catholic faith, which showed in her active parish work, first at Our Lady of Angels parish throughout her youth and later at St. Matthew's parish in San Mateo. Old time San Mateans would remember Suzanne working at the St. Matt's parish carnival, bingo nights, and the fireworks booth.

Suzanne was also a familiar face to customers at Hibernia Bank and Bank of America - both in downtown San Mateo - where she worked for decades as a teller and in other administrative roles with BofA. Later in life, Suzanne spent two years as the attendance secretary at Junípero Serra High School. She completed her professional career as a travel agent with Town & Country Travel in San Mateo. In this role, Suzanne was able to travel throughout Europe and discover her love for Rome.

However, once retired, Suzanne discovered her voice and sang at local senior centers and care homes with Bill Germano on piano and his son Mike Germano on drums. Singing the oldies brought her great joy.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Richard T. Sullivan, and her brother Donald Stebenne of Laguna Hills, CA. She is survived by her children Stephen Sullivan (Kris), Thomas Sullivan (Yvonne), and Dianne Morton (Brian); grandchildren Sean, Ian, Scott, Corey, Brendan, Ashley, and Fiona; and great grandchildren Santi, Sophia, William, Margaret, George, and Mackenzie.
