Sydney R Sprenkle

1940 - 2026

Sydney R. Sprenkle, 85, passed away March 31, 2026. He was the husband of Cheryl B. Sprenkle. Born in York, PA on September 5, 1940, son of the late Lloyd and Nellie Sprenkle.

Sydney proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He found his greatest joy in life's simple, meaningful moments. Many afternoons were spent on his front porch, quietly watching hummingbirds at the feeder, a scene that brought him endless peace. He had a gift for storytelling, delighting his grandchildren with animated, often humorous tales about people he had known over the years. Stories that grew richer and more entertaining with each telling.
He cherished time outdoors, especially fishing trips to Canada, where he shared laughter, patience, and lasting memories with friends and family. Equally dear to him were the trips to the family hunting camp in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. A place filled with tradition and a deep connection to the land he loved. These moments, simple yet profound, reflected the heart of who he was, a man who valued family, friendship, and the quiet beauty of the world around him.
Sydney leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Cheryl of Red Lion; children, Amy Forsythe and wife Darlene Carty of Lewisberry, Marc Sprenkle and wife Barb of York, Bradly Sprenkle of Red Lion, Marcy Geesey and husband George of York, Dr. Tanya Brown of Williamsport, Robin Kelley and husband Rob; grandchildren, Jordan Fahringer, Tyler Fahringer, Emily Sprenkle, Kyle Sprenkle, Samantha Sprenkle, Blair Brown, Sloan Wood, Adam Larkin, Zackary Kelley and Braden Kelley; and his sister, Bobby Leonard.
