In Loving Memory of Tannis Gasiorowski ❤️
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Tannis Gasiorowski on January 22, 2026. A devoted mother, grandmother, partner, and cherished member of her family, Tannis will be remembered for her strength, resilience, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.
Tannis was born on December 6, 1950, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the second of four children. She was 2 years old when her family moved west to Vancouver, BC. She grew up in East Vancouver and attended David Thompson Secondary School, graduating in 1968.
After graduation, Tannis began working and built a strong work ethic early in life. She spent many years with Westburne Electric, as well as being self-employed as a Mary Kay Cosmetics consultant. In 1973, she married Henry Gasiorowski, and together they raised their three children, Brent, Ben, and Karli. The family first lived in Vancouver before moving to Surrey, where they eventually purchased land in the mid-80s and built their dream home on an acre.
After her separation in 1989, Tannis began a new chapter in her life and career. She joined Coquitlam Chrysler, where she worked for a couple of decades. Starting as the only female salesperson in a predominantly male-dominated industry, she later became a fleet manager. Through determination and hard work, she built a successful career and supported herself and her family with remarkable independence.
During these years, Tannis truly found her voice and strength. Navigating life as a single parent with little outside help, she demonstrated resilience and self-reliance that deeply inspired her children and those around her.
In 2010, a serious workplace accident forced Tannis to stop working and limited her ability to return to full-time physical work. Despite these challenges, she continued to live her life with determination and grace. She remained deeply connected to her friends and family and devoted much of her time to her beloved garden. Tannis had a natural green thumb and could grow almost anything. Her family marvelled at her love of connecting with the animals that flocked to her oasis and the beauty that she grew around her. Over the years, the land around her home flourished, and her backyard became a peaceful haven of nature where countless cherished memories were shared.
After many years of being happily independent, Tannis met her partner, Ray Koronko, in her late 60s through mutual friends. This new chapter brought companionship, laughter, and adventure into her life. Together they enjoyed time with friends and family, as well as visits to Birch Bay and other getaways.
Tannis will be remembered for her humour, courage, determination, her love of the Christmas season, and her unwavering love and dedication to her family. Her strength and resilience were evident throughout her life, and she led by example, inspiring her children and grandchildren with her laughter, strength, and perseverance.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Brent Gasiorowski (Georgia) and their children Alex, Ava, and Eliana; Ben Gasiorowski (Leanne) and their daughter Kara; and her daughter Karli Gasiorowski and her daughter Olivia. She is also remembered with love by her partner, Ray Koronko, as well as extended family and many dear friends.
Her legacy lives on in the family she loved so deeply and the countless memories shared together. Though she is gone, her strength and spirit will continue to guide those who loved her.
A remembrance will be held to celebrate her life on April 18th, 2026 at 1pm at Vancouver Golf Club, 771 Austin Avenue, Coquitlam, BC.
For those who wish to honour Tannis’s memory, donations may be made to the BC SPCA, the BC Lung Foundation, or Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation.
