Taylor Alicia Stelting, 31, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on March 8, 2026 after a lengthy hospital stay and surgery. She was just one week shy of her 32nd birthday.

Taylor was born on March 14, 1994 the eldest daughter to David Stelting & Kimberly Taylor Stelting. She entered the world with a bang and never quit making things exciting for her family.

Taylor grew up in Olathe, Kansas and she attended Scarborough Elementary, Chisholm Trail Middle School and Olathe South High School - where she was an active participant in chorus and theater. After graduating in 2013 she completed several creative courses at JCCC. Eventually Taylor began a career with Republic Services.

There wasn’t a hobby or creative outlet in which Taylor did not dabble - singing, dancing, theater, writing, floral arrangements, sewing, knitting, sketching, cooking, baking, bedazzling, makeup & hair styling, nail application, RPG games and, her favorite thing of all, Dungeons and Dragons. Taylor was known for her big heart and strong beliefs. She was passionate about advocating for human rights.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother Kimberly and stepfather Jeremy Whetstone of Olathe, Father David of KCK, her adored sister and brother-in-law Kendall and Mark Stelting-Milks of KCK, and partner-in-crime, sister & roommate Logan Stelting. She is also survived by her grandparents Gerald & Sylvia Taylor (Baba and Popa) and Marianne Foster (Grandma); Aunts and Uncles Stacy Scheelk, Jennifer & JJ Jenkins, Julie & Todd Baker, Megan & Brian Lasche. She was the oldest cousin to Mallory and Brooks Scheelk, Trey, Flynn & Cameron Jenkins, and Luke, Jordan and Allison Baker. She is also remembered with love by many friends turned into chosen family. We wish we could list them all here as she had a heart as huge as the universe and loved just as big.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Colonial Church in Prairie Village at 7039 Mission Road on March 17th at 6:00pm. We request no dark colors, wear your brightest and most fabulous to celebrate our vibrant girl and a life cut short. Bring with you a coin for the ferryman, a story or memory to share, and an open, accepting and loving heart. Following the service we will host a gathering at The District Flats Tower Lounge at 8789 Penrose Lane in Lenexa. We will be able to share food, drinks and tell ALL the Taylor stories until midnight. Please plan to come as Taylor loved an Irish Goodbye so this is the perfect day and way to celebrate her too short life.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to KC Pet Project since she loved her cats Calliope & Chessy (and Wesley) so much. Really, all her pets – Mandy, Missy, Declan, Simba, Maye, Cadence, Skye & Mia. Or, The Trevor Project as she was a member of the LGBTQ community and a staunch supporter of all humans!
