Teresa Jesus (Garanito) Andrade passed away peacefully at the age of 87 in Port Charlotte, FL.
She was born on February 23, 1938, in Funchal, Portugal, to the late Joao and Matilda (Fernandes) Garanito. In 1955, she married John Andrade, and together they shared 55 years of love and family. They were blessed with two daughters, Ana Andrade and Marcia (Andrade) Zagorski.
A longtime resident of Taunton, and formerly of Venezuela, Teresa moved to Taunton, MA, in 1970. She was the proud owner of Petite Beauty Salon in Needham, MA, for over 30 years. She will be remembered for her joy, laughter, devotion to family, and love of the beach. Teresa treasured her family above all else.
She is survived by her daughters, Ana Andrade of Phoenix, AZ, and Marcia Zagorski and her husband Justin of Port Charlotte, FL. She leaves behind her grandchildren: Jennifer and her husband Jeffrey Winkler of Phoenix, AZ, Nita Rajani of Fall River, MA, and Ayva, Alli, and Alana Zagorski of Port Charlotte, FL.
She was also blessed with a great-grandson, Isaac Winkler, son of Jennifer and Jeffrey. In addition, she is survived by her sisters Adriana Azevedo of Taunton, MA, and Judite Garanito of Venezuela, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Andrade; her parents, Joao and Matilda; and her siblings John Garanito, Alvarino Garanito, Armando Garanito, and Cidalia Nobrega.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:30am on October 10, 2025, at Holy Family Church in East Taunton, MA, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at https://alzfdn.org/donate.
