Teresa S. Cholaj

Teresa Cholaj of Philadelphia, PA passed away peacefully at home with loved ones by her side. She was 88 years old.
She is the daughter of the late Czeslaw and Franciszka Urbanowski, Teresa was born in Drobnin, Poland, where she lived until she immigrated to America in 1962 with her young family. Teresa was predeceased in death by her sister, Teodozja (her late husband Edmund), and survived by her sisters, Waleria (Ignacy) and Natalia (Jan) who both still live in Poland with their families. Until more recently, Teresa would continue to communicate with her sisters and their families, often in her native language.
Teresa would come alive telling stories of her early years and would be eager to teach her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Polish traditions and words. She was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, never wanting to miss a game. Teresa also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing.
Teresa is survived by her loving children - George (Patricia) Cholaj and Margaret (Edward) Adamson; grandchildren - Brook (Jason), Matthew, Monica (Eric), Christian (Amy), Bryan, Erica, Andrew, Kevin, and Nicholas; and thirteen great-grandchildren - Lilly, Matthew, Ryan, Isabella, Tessa, Jake, Avery, Ellie, Connor, Riley, Carter, Victoria, and Tyler.
Also loved and will be missed dearly by her companion, caregiver and friend for the last four years, Siede Bedell.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 5, 2025 starting at 11:30am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery Chapel at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa, 654 Ferry Road, Doylestown, PA 18901, (enter through the cemetery gates in your car driving to the end of the road at which point the Cemetery Chapel will be on your left). Teresa's Mass of Christian Burial (in English) will begin promptly at 12:30pm. Interment will immediately follow the Mass. Arrangements by the Donahue Funeral Home 215-348-9421.
