Terry Barr passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Hartford Hospital with his loving wife by his side. Terry was born in Syracuse, NY, To Alexander and Hazel (Nyhart) Barr on November 2, 1945. After graduating high school, he entered the Air Force and served at Montauk Point Air Force Station where his job involved radar surveillance, detecting unidentified aircraft entering U.S. airspace. He was also a proud member of the Air Force boxing team. After his military career ended, he enjoyed an extensive career in the developing computer field, working for Bell Atlantic, and Sorbus Inc., before opening his own company, Midpoint Computer, based out of his hometown of Marlborough, CT.
Terry enjoyed fishing, jet skiing, golfing with his wife Deb, time with his family at their beach house that he and his wife built together in Rhode Island, and attending his grandchildren's many sports games and activities. He cheered on his beloved New York Giants every Sunday in the fall, and was an avid Mike Tyson and boxing fan. Most of all, Terry enjoyed being a husband, father, and grandfather (Pop), where spending time with his family and friends was what he truly cherished.
Terry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Debra (Curtin), his son Matthew, and his daughters Kate and Erin. He leaves behind his seven grandchildren, Kassidy, Hannah, Alexander, Michael, Molly, Nate and Abby, along with his older sisters Patricia (Streeter) and Charlotte (Higgins). He is preceded in death by his parents and his two older brothers Richard and John.
