Terry Bayne Cauthron, at the age of 54, of Tyler, Texas, passed away on February 8, 2026, in Tyler.

Born on November 28, 1971, in Tyler, Terry—known to many as Bayne—lived a life enjoying the simple joys that brought him peace. A proud veteran, he served honorably in the United States Army, demonstrating a deep commitment to his country.

He went to Andy Woods Elementary, and then his family moved to Chapel Hill, Texas, where he attended middle school and graduated from Chapel Hill High School with the Class of '1991.

Bayne was a member of Flint Baptist Church and accepted the Lord as his personal Savior at a young age. His faith provided strength during his courageous battle with cancer.

He found happiness in life’s quieter moments: listening to music that stirred memories, watching classic black-and-white westerns, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, grilling outdoors surrounded by loved ones, and fishing—casting a line into calm waters. These pastimes were more than hobbies; they reflected his appreciation for connection, comfort, and tradition.

Bayne’s love for his family was unwavering. He is survived by his devoted wife, Melinda “Mendy” Cauthron. In recent years, Mendy stood faithfully by Bayne’s side as his caregiver during his long battle with cancer. When the illness returned in another location, she continued to care for him with strength and compassion—traveling for treatments and offering her love until his final breath.

He is also survived by his sons, Logan Cauthron and Griffin Cauthron; step-daughter, Danielle Ojeda; mother, Patricia Burton Flake; sister, Sherri Smith and her husband, Mitchell Smith; nephew, Jake Smith and wife, Schi-Lee Smith; niece, Brittani Smith; great-nephew, Asher Ray Smith; his beloved cat companions, Mister and Babygirl; as well as uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Bayne was preceded in death by his father, Terry Dwaine Cauthron; paternal grandparents, Elmer and Louise Cauthron; and maternal grandparents, Charlie and Dickie Burton.

A Memorial Service will be held on February 21, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Dayspring Methodist Church, located at 10896 County Road 169, Flint, TX 75762

Though Bayne has departed this world, he is now free from pain and rests in eternal peace. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him—through shared stories around the grill, favorite songs played on quiet afternoons, or laughter among family.

In place of flowers, the family asks that charitable donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. These are two charities that were very near and dear to Bayne's heart.

May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him.
