Terry Lynn Claus

1958 - 2026

Terry Lynn Claus, 67, of Northridge, CA , passed away on Wednesday March 18, 2026 after a short and hard fought battle with kidney disease. She was born on June 19, 1958 to Earl and Ruth Claus, the youngest of three children. Terry was beloved and kind hearted throughout her life. She began babysitting at a young age and was always the first choice of the Winnetka neighborhood parents who needed child care. Terry parlayed her nurturing spirit of caring for others (including children and infirmed elders) into a full time career. She treated all who were entrusted to her care as family.

Terry loved Roller Skating, Swimming, Music, Walking with John, Surfing the "Net", and Animals, especially Dogs.
Terry was known affectionately as "Buntie", a nickname John gave her, and later in life, as "Sugar Bunny", a nickname that John's Mom gave her.
Buntie was a very skilled cook and enjoyed sharing good food and good times with family and friends. She was the Master of her Kitchen !!

Terry was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother, Ronny. She is survived by her Life Partner of the last 36 years, John Guevara, her older brother, Ricky, and her Life Long Friend, Nancy Miskell of Arlington, TX. John and Terry lived together for about 22 years, all told. John was by her side at the Hospital until the very end. They Loved each other very, very much. Buntie was fully accepted and Loved completely by John's entire Family.

Any one that has ever met Terry either Liked Her or Loved Her. Nobody ever Disliked Her. She was Sweet, Kind, Caring, Giving and Loving.
Buntie had an almost Child like Innocence about her. She was Outgoing with an Easy Friendliness about her. Everybody Loved Buntie !

Terry was Selfless and always willing to Do For Others. She was An Angel on Earth ! She is in Heaven with God now.

There was a Celebration of Terry's Life held at the Olive Garden Restaurant in Chatsworth, CA on March 28th. The Memorial Dinner was attended by family and friends, about 15 people, all told. There was a Viewing held at 3 PM on March 31st at the Crawford Lorenzen Mortuary in Northridge, CA.
It was attended by John Guevara and the Smalls / Flores family. Terry asked that folks please make a donation to one of her favorite Charities:

North Shore Animal League, St Jude Children's Research Hospital or Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, CA.
Buntie was a regular contributor to these Charities. She would frequently give food and water to the Homeless folks that she encountered.

Terry will be greatly missed by those who knew her and Loved Her. God Bless, You Terry !
