Terry Lee McCord

Terry Lee McCord passed away on February 11, 2026 in Grants Pass, Oregon, USA at the age of 78. Terry was born in Montebello, California in 1947 to Leonard Eugene McCord (Missouri, 1903) and Neva Pierce (Colorado, 1906) who preceded Terry into the afterlife.

Terry is survived by his wife of 23 years, Robin McCord; daughters Molly Nause-McCord and Rachel McCord; sons Seth Nause-McCord and Sy Leger; and a meaningful circle of grandchildren, bonus children, brothers in life, friends, and family: Freda Ziegelmair, Andrea Ziegert, Chris and Brenna Janssen, Emilee Janssen, Camryn Janssen, and Jim + Dina Frieze.

Terry grew up in Frazier Park, CA then lived most of his adult life in Southern Oregon. Terry was a funny, adventurous, hands on DIY guy. He was a lifetime fabricator; fixing, building, and repairing things, tinkering with projects or ideas, and teaching others. Terry was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, white water rafting, gold mining, motorcycles, good food, desserts, dogs, and silly pranks. Terry was cut from a mold that was unique in humor, intelligence, resilience, and with a holistic acceptance of people and their lifestyles, backgrounds, and perspectives.

Terry has been cremated and returned to the outdoors he loved. There is not a service planned. In lieu of flowers or gifts, Terry's family has asked that folks donate in his memory to the Salmon Safe Foundation which supports Oregon's Salmon population by protecting water quality and restoring habitat in key salmon watersheds, specifically including the areas Terry guided during his career. https://salmonsafe.org/donate/
