Terry Lou (Theirl) Cattanach, age 76, of St. Paul, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 9, 2025, after an 18-month battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Stanley, Wisconsin, Terry embodied the steady Midwestern values that shaped her life: kindness, humility, and an unwavering desire to care for others. These qualities guided her into a lifelong career in early childhood education, where she nurtured countless young lives with the same tenderness she gave her own family.
Terry's initials—TLC—were more than letters; they were her essence. She cared instinctively and deeply, expressing love through the small, everyday gestures that mattered most. At home, she found joy in life's simple pleasures: a cold Coke, a handful of M&Ms, and the quiet rhythm of a day spent gardening or sewing.
Above all, Terry was devoted to her family. She was a loving mother to three children and a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren. One of five siblings, she was also a cherished aunt to twelve nieces and nephews.
Terry leaves behind a family who loved her and friends who treasured her. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on—in every garden she planted, every child she taught, and every person fortunate enough to have been touched by her gentle care.
A life of kindness. A heart of TLC. A legacy of love.
A special thank you to the caregivers at The Commons and Minnesota Hospice who provided wonderful support and care for Terry. At Terry's request, no service will be held, in lieu of flowers you can honor her memory by performing an act of kindness.
