Thomas Robert Barito 1955 - 2026
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas Robert Barito on March 11, 2026.
Born on April 21,1955, Tom left us too soon. A man of wit, skill, and passion, Tom had an infectious personality that brought joy to everyone around him.
Tom was a proud alumnus of Trinity High School where he graduated in 1973. He earned a B.S. in Mathematics from the
University of Oklahoma (1977) and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisville (1982). Tom held more than eighty patents from his career as a mechanical engineer.
His diverse interests included playing the banjo, distance running, dancing, and achieving immortality through the right diet and exercise regimen.
He was a firm believer in humanity's impact on climate change as evidenced by his original song, "The World is Still Flat," which encapsulates the essence of his gentle and caring nature. He will always be remembered for his selfless acts in striving to make this world a better place.
Tom is survived by his spouse, Coby Watier Barito, who provided him unwavering support and matched his loving spirit. His legacy lives on in his children, Adam (Amy), Laura, and Bobb, who have all inherited his compassion, creativity, and humor. He is also survived by his stepdaughter Corina Hawley (Kyle) and his grandson Charlie, his siblings, Paul Bariteau (Carolan), Teresa Daggett (Dave), Bob Barito (Kellie), Joe Barito (Margie), Bill Bariteau (Kate), Maggie Breslin (Paul), and a host of nieces and nephews.
