Thomas M. Bell

Thomas Marvin Bell was born on July 12. 1944 in Huntingdon, TN to the late Rev. Steve Bell, Sr and Christine (Scales) Bell. Tom confessed his life to Christ at an early age attending the many services with his parents and siblings as a way of life. He graduated as a valedictorian from Webb High School, class of 1962. After high school Tom moved to Nashville, TN for work and to further his education. He met his wife of 61 years, Jo Anna (Carter) Bell through a mutual friend from West Tennessee. Their union created daughter, Naetta Bell-Taylor (Atlanta, GA).
Tom was a long-time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where he served as an elder. Additionally, Tom was a Shriner (Hella #105 Temple). Tom was blessed with many gifts and a career in mechanical gas and diesel engines as a remarkable certified specialist. After school he remained in Nashville and worked at the Nashville Bus Company and later was hired at Peterbilt Motors where he became a general foreman. In the late 70s Tom had a calling to open a service station and garage where he could use all his talents as a businessman and mechanical specialist to bless people along the way. Further combining his business and mechanical talents, Tom later transitioned his business into selling affordable vehicles. Tom spent his golden years as a caretaker for his wife and assisted in the rearing of his grandchildren living in Colorado and Georgia.

Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Jo Anna, his daughter Naetta, grandchildren Alexandria Lauren Taylor and Erik Taylor, great-grandchildren A'Moura Victoria Taylor and Drayce Hendrixx Taylor and siblings Mr. Steve Bell, Jr., Mr. Earl (Regina) Bell, Mr. Dwayne (Beverly) Bell, and Mrs. Deborah (Ottie West - deceased) Bell West. Tom is preceded in transition by his parents Pastor Steve Bell, Sr. and Mrs. Christine Scales Bell, and his sisters Ms. Bessie Bell and Mary (Dennis) Witherspoon.

Tom was supported and loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Memorial Services are to being held on October 18, 2025 at Lewis and Wright Funeral Home, located at 2500 Clarksville Pike, Nashville, TN 37208.
