Thomas "Thom" Hohl, 72 years of age and a resident of Whitehall, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Born on July 14, 1953, in Northampton, PA, he was the youngest child of the late Vincent and Margaret (Farrell) Hohl. He was the loving husband of Laurie (Anderson) Hohl for 34 years before her passing on March 1, 2022.

Thom graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School in 1971 and attended Kean University, American University, and received his Master's Degree in Education in 2000 from Rutgers University

He was a free spirit and accomplished many great things during his life. He was the President of the Rosele Public Library Band, a member of the St. Joseph the Carpenter Choir in Roselle, NJ, the Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Choir, Whitehall, PA, and a coach for the Jersey Urban Debate League, Newark, NJ, just to mention a few. He retired from the Newark Public School District in 2016. He loved working with disadvantaged children.

His love for sailing was passed on to his many nieces and nephews. They all learned a lot from their Uncle Thom! He was the favorite uncle!

Survivors include his brother Joseph of Upland, CA; his sisters; Sr. Margaret Mary Hohl, D.C. of Albany, NY, Nancy Keller of Poughquag, NY, RoseMary Digby of Catonsville, MD, and Susan Pereria (John), Springfield, NE; pre-deceased by his brother Vincent Hohl, Jr.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Joseph J. Kweder on Saturday, March 7, at 10:00 am in Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Avenue, Whitehall, PA 18052, where his family will receive guests beginning at 9:00 am.

Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery of Saint Mary in Catasauqua.

In lieu of flowers during this season of Lent, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Elizabeth Music Ministry 618 Fullerton Avenue Whitehall, PA 18052 or to the American Lung Association PO Box 70360, Philadelphia, PA 19176-0360.
