Thomas Henry Mansfield, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday November 15, 2025. He was 84. Tom was born January 12, 1941 and grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Salesian High School (1959), Wayne State University (BS 1967) and Central Michigan University (MA 1978). He was a member of the United States Air Force Reserve and former president of the Rochester, MI Jaycees. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia, son, Matthew, daughter, Maureen (Colin) Hawkins, grandchildren Nolan, Laney and Laurel Hawkins of Hilton Head, SC, siblings James (Char) Mansfield of Spokane, WA, Mary Ann (Rudy) Gross of Onekama, MI, and Jerry (Coleen) Mansfield of Royal Oak, MI. He is predeceased by his sister Barbara Sabatos of AuTrain, MI. Tom and Pat lived in Hilton Head for the past 15 years, previously residing in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hudson, Ohio and Rochester, Michigan. Tom's career included General Motors, Chrysler Corporation, Uniroyal Tires and General Tire. Tom was an avid golfer for over 50 years. He also enjoyed playing hockey, softball and keeping up with the Detroit sports teams. Tom loved telling jokes, stories from his past, and always had last night's baseball scores. He loved family holidays and jumped at any chance to cheer on his grandkids. He was deeply devoted to his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. There will be a mass at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church, Monday November 24 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tom's memory to MiraSol Hospice Care of the Lowcountry.
