Thomas Edward "Tom" Ostertag, 71, of Farmington, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026 surrounded by his family. Born on August 29, 1954, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Tom lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a love for the outdoors.

Tom began his career in the concrete business at the young age of 15. His dedication and skill led him to establish his own company, Tom Ostertag Masonry, which he successfully operated for 28 years. His work ethic and craftsmanship were well-respected in the community. He was eventually forced to retire due to medical reasons.

A devoted husband and father, Tom is survived by his beloved wife Lisa (Anderson) Ostertag and their children: Mindy (Trent) Johnson, Jennifer Ostertag, Coral Ostertag, Ashley (Nate) Pietsch, and Jesse (Krista) Ostertag. He was also a proud grandfather to Emily (Eric) Knutson, Maya Olwell, Sara (Wyatt) Hanson, Anni (Logan) Berggren, Noah Pietsch, Leo Pietsch, Kendal Ostertag, and Brody Ostertag. Additionally, he cherished his three great-grandchildren: Nellie Knutson, Waylen Knutson, and Quinn Hanson.

Tom found joy in hunting and fishing—pastimes that reflected his deep appreciation for nature and provided him with countless cherished memories alongside family and friends. Known for his generosity and loyalty, Tom was a loving family man who supported those around him with unwavering kindness. His friendships were marked by trust and warmth that left an indelible impact on all who knew him.

After private inurnment, a Celebration of Life will be held on June 12, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Celt's Pub, 200 3rd St., Farmington, Mn.
June 12 would have been Tom and Lisa's 50th wedding anniversary.
