Thomas (Tom) Lee Queen
February 24, 1936 – February 1, 2026

Tom Queen passed away on February 1, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones. For just shy of 90 years, Tom was full of kindness, grace, compassion, love for family and friends, and a bold passion for life.

Tom was born February 24, 1936, in Monroe, Georgia. After graduating from Monroe High School, he entered the U.S. Air Force and completed Technical Training at Scott AFB, Illinois. Upon completion of a year assignment in Korea, he returned to the states in 1956 and was stationed at Davis Monthan AFB, Arizona. While in Tucson, he met the love of his life, Yvonne Holaway, in November of 1956. It wasn’t long until she became his forever Queen in May of 1958.

Tom and Yvonne were married for only 6 weeks, before moving back to Georgia to star life in Atlanta. Tom entered the civilian work force in 1960 and began a long career in the Financial Service Industry, Savings & Loan operations and private business endeavors. He was dedicated to his work, his employees, and the business relationships he built.

Through the years, no matter where life carried Tom, he always found his group of friends to share his love of building hot rods, fast engines, and motorcycles. All the nights in the garage, weekend races, and engine talk with buddies, led him to his favorite place to be, the Hemi Hideout.

The biggest joy of Tom’s life was the family he and Yvonne built full of love. He adored his two daughters Tami (Queen) Icenhower and Teri Queen. They are blessed to have so many memories of unconditional love and laughter. His girls were so lucky to share his sense of humor and laughing until they cried right until the end.
His grandchildren Cori and Cole Icenhower brought a new level of love to his life. He was the most caring, involved and proud PawPaw. They knew every single day that he loved them beyond measure and was a call away for anything they needed.

Tom was a friend to everyone he met and touched many lives in countless ways. He left everyone better than he found them. He is unforgettable, but has left so much love behind.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Honor Flight Houston, an organization that honors and pays tribute to our American veteran heroes with a trip for Veterans of World War II, Korea and Vietnam to visit the war memorials in Washington, DC.
