Send Flowers Plant A Tree
It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to our favorite human, Tom Smith. Born June 11, 1969, Tom passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side, on December 1, 2025.

A proud graduate of Fermi High School, Class of '87, Tom went on to earn his Bachelor's degree in Communications from Central Connecticut State University, where he also played football. That path led him to a long and dedicated career at ESPN — over 30 years with a team he truly considered family.

At heart, Tom was a homebody who loved nothing more than time at "Fort Smith." Summers were spent by the pool, winters by the fire watching football (especially when the Raiders were on). When he wasn't at home, he was in his home away from home - the RV, rolling through New England and down South with his son, Nate, cheering him on at countless dirt bike races and soaking up every moment with Nate and his friends who were like sons to him. Those adventures were some of his happiest memories. He also had a deep love for the ocean — especially the Outer Banks and the family cottage at Giant's Neck Beach.

Tom fought a long, courageous battle with undeniable strength.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Amy; his son, Nate; his mother, Helen; and his brother, Greg Smith. He was predeceased by his father, Francis Smith.
A special thank-you to our cousin Kevin Ford, who was always by Tom's side and supporting us — truly our rock.

Tom, you are loved and will be missed every single day.
"Pour until the ice floats!"

The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life, with dates to be shared.
