Timothy J. Hunt, 70, of Essex, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
Tim was born on May 15, 1955, in Beverly, Massachusetts, to Merlin J. Hunt Sr. and Arline J. (Francis) Hunt. He began working at Tally's in Gloucester at just 16 years old. In the late 1970s, he worked at Cape Ann Transportation Authority preforming maintenance on buses, followed by employment with Bentley Warren Trucking. He later spent nearly 20 years at 128 Ford, where he worked as an automotive mechanic, before going on to work alongside his best friend, Eddy Hopkins, repairing oil burners. Tim concluded his career working for Mike & Sons. Even after retirement, he remained active by helping his son with his business, C & K Fleet Services.
Tim had a huge heart and would do anything for the people he loved. Throughout his life, he enjoyed many hobbies, including horse showing, camping, and spending time at his second home in Naples, Maine. He especially loved having his Doberman puppies by his side. Above all else, Tim cherished his motorcycle and being a part of the Aces and Eights Riding Club—a community that meant so much to him.
Tim is survived by his wife, Laurie Hunt; his children, Justin Kupeic, Lane Keyes and her husband Jon Keyes, Haleigh Lampert and her husband Chad Lampert, and Keith Hunt; and his eleven grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Merlin J. Hunt Sr. and Arline Hunt, and his brother, Merlin Hunt Jr.
Visiting hours will be held at Campbell Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery.
