Timothy Wayne Stonecipher, 66, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 19, 2026. Born on October 6, 1959, in Brawley, California, Tim lived a life defined by hard work, deep love for family, and a restless spirit that was always most at home where the pavement ended.
An avid outdoorsman, Tim found joy and peace in nature. His best days were spent hunting, fishing, and boating alongside those he loved. Whether navigating the Pismo Sand Dunes, finding quiet moments in the mountains, or cruising down the open road on his Harley, Tim was never far from family and friends. These moments—full of laughter, adventure, and connection—were where he truly came alive.
Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, Tim was a skilled carpenter and general contractor. His work reflected the same qualities he carried through life: dedication, integrity, and pride in doing things the right way. To his family, he was a provider, a protector, and a loyal friend. To his nine grandchildren, he was simply and lovingly known as "Papa"—a title he wore with immense pride.
In his final days, friends and loved ones gathered to share stories, laughter, and memories. Those moments served as a powerful testament to a man remembered for his strong character, quick wit, generous heart, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Tim is survived by his partner, Julie; his children Jeanette (Adam) Mufford of Colorado, with grandchildren Alora (14), Xander (12), and Avery (10); Daniel (Jackie) Stonecipher, with grandchildren Bradley (23), Harley (15), and William (12); and Jon (Chelsea) Stonecipher of California, with grandchildren Raine (19), Travis (9), and Lily (1). He is also survived by his siblings, Barbara Gilliam, Terry Stonecipher, and Mike (Berni) Stonecipher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marian Stonecipher, and his brother-in-law, Micheal Gilliam.
The Stonecipher family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who visited Tim in his final days. Your stories, love, and presence affirmed the incredible man he was and the legacy he leaves behind.
