On January 5, 2026, Trina Lynn Hodges (Hall), age 71, passed away, suddenly leaving a profound emptiness in the hearts of her children, and all who loved her. Her life was one marked by love, generosity, and devotion to her faith and her family.
Trina was born in Yuma, Arizona to Troy and Joyce Hall. As the second eldest of five children and the oldest daughter, Trina learned early on how to care for others, and nurturing came naturally to her. That loving, selfless spirit carried beautifully into motherhood. She became a mother in 1975 with the birth of her daughter, Jennifer, welcomed to her son, David, in 1977 and a couple years later completed her family with the arrival of her youngest, Rhonda. Being a mother was one Trina's greatest joys, and she devoted herself fully to raising her children with unwavering love and care. Her children were her greatest joy in the title of mother was the one she wore most proudly.
Trina spent nearly 30 years working as a cashier at a local grocery store where she became familiar and friendly faced to countless customers. Her strong work ethic, reliability, and kind demeanor left a lasting impression of coworkers and patrons alike. She took great pride in her work and the connection she made along the way, retiring just a few years ago after decades of dedicated service.
Trina found joy in the simple, everyday moment she shared with the people she loved. She especially enjoyed talking football with her brother Kirby, always eager to keep up and proudly hold her own in the conversation. She also spoke with her sister Gail every single day, covering everything under the sun, though their talks inevitably circled back to what David was having for dinner, as he faithfully sent her photos of his meals each night. In the family, Trina was legendary for her red chili burritos, a recipe that became a lifelong favorite for her children. Though many have tried to re-create them over the years, no one ever made them the way Trina did although, Rhonda's do come pretty close.
Trina leaves behind a lifetime of love, memories, and traditions that will continue to be carried on by those who were blessed to call her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her love will forever remain.
