Ursula Muehllehner

1942 - 2026

Shortly after her 84th birthday, Ursula Muehllehner—adventurer, conservationist, and former CFO of UGM Medical Systems—passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family and held in the loving thoughts of friends around the world. Ursula was born in Berlin, Germany, and came of age in the postwar years along the North Sea, where she lived life to the fullest on the vast tidal flats and along the Elbe River. Adventurous from an early age, she left home at seventeen to travel the world, beginning a life defined by independence and spirit. She shared a remarkable partnership with her husband, Gerd, grounded in a deep love of family and travel, and supporting each other's enthusiasm for horses, sailing, chickens, and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanners. Ursula earned her degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania while raising three children. She then worked alongside Gerd to help make PET imaging accessible worldwide, improving countless lives.

In retirement, Ursula and Gerd settled on their "glorious farm" in the Baraboo Hills of Wisconsin. A force of nature, she was devoted to land preservation, tireless in removing invasive species, and endlessly engaged in a remarkable range of passions and pursuits. Environmental stewardship was her true calling. In her words, "I believe in preserving Nature and restoring it; it is the highest calling. The longer I live, the more I realize it is all that really matters." Ursula will be deeply missed by her children, Donya, Tessa, and Nancy; her sister, Helga Neidhardt; and their families. A celebration of life will be held in Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, Ursula would be honored by a donation to the Baraboo Range Preservation Association, The Nature Conservancy, or an environmental organization of your choice.
