Ms. Valerie Ewald (Martonhegyi), age 76, passed away on July 5, 2025, in Ocala, Florida. Born on October 20, 1948, in Budapest, Hungary. Valerie immigrated to the United States as a child and completed her school years in Ohio. She settled down in Michigan to raise her family. Later she worked in the fields of retail, building, and mortgages.

A woman of many talents and passions, Valerie was known for her creativity and resourcefulness. She was a skilled beader and knitter who took pride in crafting handmade Christmas gifts for those she loved. Her culinary skills were equally cherished—she prepared traditional American holiday meals entirely from scratch, creating warm memories around the table. In Florida, she ran a flea market booth where she showcased collectible treasures that reflected her eclectic taste and eye for beauty.

Valerie had a great love for Florida, where she cherished the warm weather and close friendships she accumulated. Her affection for cats was well known—she always had at least one feline companion by her side. She also enjoyed true crime shows.

Valerie is remembered by her four daughters: Kira Trever; Kim Buday and her husband Dan Buday; Kristine Trever; and Katherine Trever. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Avah; Drake and Juan; Colton; and CC. She also held a very special place in her heart for her nephew Jared, and Buddy's children, Nicole and Christopher.

She was preceded in death by her beloved partner Buddy and her brother Pete, who died in succession in recent years. Despite these devastating losses, in the year before her passing, Valerie strengthened her ties with family and looked forward to renovating her home and spending more time with friends.

In remembering Valerie, those who knew her speak of a woman who evolved with time—who softened into gentleness, becoming less burdened by past pain. She may have left some things unsaid, but through quiet gestures and enduring presence, she sought reconciliation in her own way. Her life's challenges influenced her sense of privacy, self determination, and meaningful bonds with others.

Though her faith was often more personal, she prayed regularly and often invited those close to her to join her in prayer during difficult times. Even during more secular periods of her life, Valerie maintained a quiet reverence for the divine.

May Valerie Ewald's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
