Vanessa Anne Lowery

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Vanessa Ann Lowery, age 66, of Lutherville Maryland. Vanessa passed away peacefully at her home on November 19, 2025. She is survived by her brother Donald Lowery and numerous extended family members on both the Lowery and Blanton sides of the family as well as a wide circle of friends.
Born in Durham, North Carolina on February 5, 1959, Vanessa was the daughter of the late Andrew and Carolyn (Blanton) Lowery. Despite her impaired vision, Vanessa lived a life of remarkable depth and achievement. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a master's degree in social work and dedicated her professional life to the Baltimore County Department of Social Services. She retired after more than 30 years of service.
Beyond her professional work, Vanessa's life was defined by her deep faith and a lifelong passion for music and her guide dogs. She was a dedicated member of Trinity Episcopal Church Long Green for many years, where she was a prominent and beloved member of the choir. In her later years, she continued her ministry of music at Redeemer, where she found great joy singing in their choir.
Vanessa lived a full and vibrant life, fueled by her love for her church community, her passion for social justice, and her deep affection for her family, many friends and beloved animals.
A Memorial Service and Interment will be held on April 25, 2026, at 11:00 am at Trinity Episcopal Church Long Green 12400 Manor Road Glen Arm MD 21057. A luncheon will follow featuring some of Vanessa's favorite foods. All are welcome to join in celebrating her beautiful life
