Vanessa Mattey

Remembering Vanessa Mattey who passed away in March 2025, in Braunschweig, Germany. Born in Manhasset, New York, Vanessa grew up in a loving family and carried her warmth, generosity and kindness with her throughout her life.

Vanessa graduated from Garden City High School in 1989 and continued her education at Hofstra University, earning her degree in 1993. Her academic journey reflected her dedication to learning and personal growth.

Vanessa relocated from Garden City, New York to Boca Raton, Florida and then several years later to Germany. She lived in central Germany for a time before settling in Braunschweig in the north.

She was predeceased by her father, Peter, whose memory she cherished deeply. Vanessa is survived by her loving mother, Christa; her sister, Natalie; her brother-in-law, Kent; and her beloved niece and nephew, Lexi and Max.

Vanessa is remembered every day, but especially at this time, a year after her passing, by the family who loves her. We take comfort in knowing that people we love remain with us always, leaving traces of their love in our hearts for all time.
