Vello P. Vilbas, Sr. of Whitehall, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in his home on Wednesday, December 31st at the age of 70. His wife of 50 yrs. was Deborah (Bartholomew) Vilbas.

Born in Miami, FL he was the son of the late Vladimir and Saimi (Merilo) Vilbas.

He was the owner of VPV Const. Co. since 1980. He also worked for RB Bracy Construction and Rizzetto Construction. He developed a love for building & creating at a young age and pursued that passion during his lifetime.

He was a graduate of Miami Central High School and Miami Dade Community College with degrees in Architectural Technology and Building Construction Technology.

He lived a life devoted to serving others. He was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Whitehall, where he served faithfully as a member and Chairperson of the Property Committee, and as a Youth Group Leader. He coached for Tri-Boro Soccer Assoc. and for the Lehigh County Special Olympics Basketball and Volleyball programs for many years. He was a volunteer Fire Fighter for over 35 years in the Whitehall Township Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife; sons Vello Jr. (Natalia), Matthew (Jessica) and Timothy; grandson Alexander and granddaughters Faith, Emma & Sophie; brother Toomas (Vilja) 3 nephews and 1 great-niece. He was predeceased by brothers Matti & Toivo and a sister Annely

Services officiated by Rev. Dr. Lynnette Delbridge will be on Monday January 19, 2026 at 11:30am in Saint John's Ev. Lutheran Church 835 Third Street, Whitehall, PA 18052, where his family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 am. Whitehall Township Fire Department Honors will be bestowed following his Service in the Church. Interment will be private.
