Vernon Cooper, 74, of Canton, Ohio, passed away on February 10, 2026. Born on March 3, 1951, in Quincy, Illinois, Vernon lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his faith, and his country.

A skilled craftsman by trade, Vernon worked as a tool maker and later as a CNC operator and programmer. His passion for precision and innovation extended beyond his career into his hobbies—he enjoyed using his CNC router and 3D printer to create and explore new projects. Whether working with machines or spending time outdoors fishing and hunting, Vernon found joy in both the technical and natural worlds.

Vernon proudly served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. His military service was a source of deep pride throughout his life. That pride extended to his family as well—he was especially honored that two of his sons followed in his footsteps by serving in the Army.

He was a devoted member of Pleasant Hill Independent Missionary Baptist Church, where he found strength in faith and fellowship. His love for the church community was matched only by the love he had for his family. Vernon cherished time spent with those closest to him—whether attending POW WOWs, traveling across the country, or camping and fishing with his father.

Vernon is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy (Sizemore) Cooper; sons Richard Cooper, Travis Cooper, Shawn Cooper, and Carl Sizemore; sister Doris Black; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Cooper and Letha (Hull) Cooper; and brothers Gary Cooper, Bobby Cooper, and Kenneth Cooper.

A celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be determined by family.

Vernon's legacy lives on through the lives he touched—with steadfast love for family, enduring faith, and unwavering patriotism. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
