In Loving Memory of Victor Shelly Mack

Victor Shelly Mack, born in 1927 in Brooklyn, New York, lived a life defined by service, devotion, and deep love for his family. After proudly serving in the United States Army, Victor pursued higher education, graduating from San Diego State University and the University of Southern California. He dedicated his professional life to public service, culminating in a distinguished career as Deputy Director of the California Youth Authority, where his leadership and compassion positively shaped countless young lives.

Victor shared nearly 60 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Gloria Taylor. Together, they built a life centered on love, partnership, and family. He was the proud father of his son and best friend, Bradford, whose bond with him brought immeasurable joy.

Known as "Papa" to his grandsons, Aidan and Austin, Victor radiated pride in their accomplishments—one soaring as a commercial airline pilot and the other excelling as a Division I quarterback. His family was his greatest treasure, and he embraced his roles as father-in-law, uncle, and brother with warmth and gratitude.

Victor found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved sailing, woodworking, a good glass of wine, and—above all—time spent with those he cherished. His presence brought steadiness, wisdom, and laughter to every gathering.

On November 24th, Victor passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love, and reunited at last with his beloved Gloria. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of Victor's life will be held in January 2026.

He will be forever loved and deeply missed.
