Victoria Lynn Young

Victoria Lynn Young "Vickie", 70, of Gary, IN, passed away on April 8, 2026. Vickie was born on August 3, 1955, in Gary, Indiana, to Johnny Young and Venia M. Stamps. She attended West Side High School, graduating in 1973, and devoted her life to caring for others.
She worked was at Edgewater, as a custodian, ensuring that it was a safe, sanitary, and functioning environment for all. In her later years, she was a resident of Aperion Care Tolleston park, where she was beloved by many. Vickie is survived by her son, Monte D'wayne Robinson; her mother, Venia M. Young; her siblings, Dawn "Peaches" Powell-Smith, Roderick "RJ" Powell, John "Pot" Young, Karen "KayKay" Young, Charlotte Young, and Ronald "Quartz" Stoner; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Young; brothers, William "Butch" Powell and Michael Young. Today we gather to honor and celebrate Vickie's life, giving thanks for the memories shared and the love that will continue to live on in our hearts. Visitation will be held on April 17, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at New Shiloh Baptist Church, 1727 W. 15th Ave, Gary, IN, with a funeral service celebrating Vickie's life immediately afterwards at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Evergreen Memorial Park, In Hobart. Services Entrusted To Powell-Coleman Funeral Home.
