Vincent Gregory "Greg" Brown passed away unexpectedly in his home on January 12, 2026. Greg, the 2nd oldest of Five "Brown Boys", was born April 2, 1966 to the late William Anthony Brown, Sr. and Marzie Ann Johnson Brown. It was often a family joke that he was born a day late. He was born and raised in Deale, Maryland. He attended Deale Elementary and he graduated from Southern High School in 1984. Greg, as all the Brown Boys were, was a rambunctious boy in his younger years. He would skate on Rockhold Creek when it was frozen over, and go fishing and crabbing in the summertime. He was a pool shark and could beat most people in a game of pool. He later became owner/operator of the family's Good Ole Days Texaco and was the town's favorite mechanic for many years. He also spent time working at the other family business, See-Thru Windows and Doors. Greg excelled at anything he put his mind to. He married Karen Williams Brown, and was the beloved dad to two daughters and one very special step daughter, although there was nothing "step" about her in his eyes. Greg loved vacationing and spontaneous late night trips to get ice cream. He was a math and science wiz, but he was also a history guru. He loved chatting about history and previous wars. He made the best pancakes and chocolate cakes. In 2016, Greg left Maryland and moved to South Carolina to take on the south with two of his daughters and the majority of his grandchildren. He was a boy scout when he was little, and he was able to take his grandson camping to instill some of the same values. Greg loved the Lord, and although he had many personal struggles, he knew of the love and grace of Jesus Christ. He had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor, which got him both in and out of a sticky situation a time or two. Greg moved back to Deale in April 2025, where he spent his last days with his Mother, Ann, and his brother, Charlie. He loved checking the crab pots, swimming in the family pool, and fishing on the charter boat with his lifelong friend Michael Garrett. Greg was loyal to a fault, and he would go to the ends of the earth for his family. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family. Greg is preceded in death by his Father, William "Bill" Brown, and three of his brothers, Gordon Brown, Robert "Bobby" Brown, and William Anthony "Billy" Brown, Jr. Greg is survived by his mother, Marzie "Ann" Brown, his brother, Charles E. Brown, his three daughters, Jolyn AbuAita (Samer), Michelle Brown, and Christina "CJ" Brown, his beloved step-daughter Tara Pratt (Daryl), and six grandchildren who he loved beyond measure, Haleigh Grace Day, Christopher Gregory AbuAita, Layla Coryn Pratt, Jacob Issa AbuAita, Cooper Matthew Dale Day, and Ameera Rosalie AbuAita. Services will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 1:00 pm is fellowship with the family, and service begins at 2:00 pm at Cedar Grove Methodist Church, in Deale Maryland. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Sandhills Teen Challenge, in Carthage, North Carolina in Gregs name.
