Vincent A. Caprio

1947 - 2026

Vincent Caprio, age 78, of Lincroft, New Jersey, passed away on January 19, 2026.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Joseph and Gloria (Mele) Caprio, Vincent was tenacious, driven, and full of life from the very start. A true New Yorker at heart, he carried that grit, confidence, and charm with him wherever he went, always doing things his way.

Vinny genuinely loved work—his favorite years were spent in the fashion and clothing manufacturing industry, building a respected business in New York City’s Garment District. He thrived in the fast-paced world of business and relationships, and took great pride in his work and the life he built through it.

He was generous and fun; he deeply loved his home in Lincroft, where you could find him perfecting his resort-like backyard oasis for legendary parties that are still talked about to this day. His elaborate Christmas light displays became an annual tradition, reflecting his larger-than-life spirit and love of sharing it with others.

Vinny was also devoted to his golf game, cherished outings with his buddies, and the simple pleasure of a good cigar and a drink afterward. He loved his friends, shared meals, bold laughter, and was always ready with a joke.

Above all, he was proud of his close-knit family. He was an encouraging father, always urging his children to boldly embrace new experiences and live fully. He adored his grandchildren and took great joy in watching them grow and cheering them on as they became who they are.

Vincent is survived by Paula (DeVincenzo) Caprio, his beautiful and loving wife of 55 years; his devoted children: son Joseph and wife Kerry; daughter Andrea and husband Frank, and daughter Jamie and husband Matthew; his six adoring grandchildren, Isabella, Vincent, Joseph, Michael, Bennett, and Greyson; his equally tenacious sister, Marie Caprio-Hitchman; and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 24th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Church in Lincroft, New Jersey. All are welcome.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
