Vincent Joseph Sosnowski Sr., 71, passed away on March 17, 2026, in Middle Village, NY.
Born on November 1, 1954, Vincent was known for his infectious personality, contagious laugh, and profound love for his family and music.
Vincent proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from November 1972 through May 1974, dedicating himself to the values of honor and service. His professional life included significant tenures at NYCHA, Teamsters Local 237, where he worked as a Maintenance Worker for 23 years, and at New Penn Motor Express, Teamsters Local 707, where he served as a Freight Clerk for 21 years.
Vincent's passions included listening to music, barbecuing, and playing the drums; activities that brought joy not only to him but also to those around him.
Everyone who knew Vinny knew he always had a story to tell; he cherished the simple pleasure of sitting down with family and friends over a cup of coffee, sharing laughs, stories, and conversation that could last for hours. Whether it was about the many jobs he took pride in while working for NYCHA, or the people and experiences he encountered on the road playing drums, his stories, full of life and character, were a reflection of the way he lived; fully, passionately, and always with something to share.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Sosnowski; his sons, Vincent Joseph Sosnowski Jr. and Justin Sosnowski; and his daughters, Toni-Marie Sosnowski, Emily Sosnowski, and Lana Sosnowski. He was preceded by his mother, Adeline Kosterski, and father, Joseph Sosnowski.
Vincent is dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. While our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in imagining him continuing to share his stories, wherever he may be. We look forward to the day we can all sit down together again, share another cup of coffee, and listen to the stories he’s gathered in his new life in Heaven.
In lieu of traditional services, the Sosnowski family has opted not to hold a public ceremony. They have established a Go Fund Me to assist with unforeseen expenses. Contributions can be made at https://gofund.me/492f8e869, a gesture that honors Vincent's spirit and support for his family.
