Viola Fabre, a native of New Roads, Louisiana, and longtime resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the age of 89.
Born on December 6, 1936, in New Roads, Viola’s life was deeply rooted in faith, family, and community. She carried the values of her upbringing throughout her life and touched many with her unwavering devotion and strength.
She is lovingly remembered by her six children and their spouses: Diana Fabre, Debra Fabre, Clarence Fabre (Diane), Gwen Fabre-Varnado (James), Monica Fabre, and Patrick Fabre (Norma). Viola’s legacy continues through her 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind 3 sisters, 2 sisters -in- law, and a host of loving relatives and friends who cherished her deeply.
A woman of profound faith, Viola was described by those closest to her as the best and most precious gift that God ever blessed them with. Her presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Hall Davis and Sons Funeral Home, located at 9348 Scenic Highway in Baton Rouge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 1565 Curtis Street, Baton Rouge, LA with Fr. Thomas F. Clark SJ officiating. Visitation will begin at the church from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m., followed by the funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Southern Memorial Gardens.
