Virginia (Ginny) Grant

Virginia Clare “Ginny” Grant, born May 14, 1934, in Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with her daughters by her side. The daughter of Walter and Clare Weissinger, Ginny grew up with a spirited personality and a natural charisma that stayed with her throughout her life.
In 1956, she married Jamie Grant, and together they built a family grounded in love, humor, and resilience. Ginny was not only a deeply devoted mother, but also a devoted wife. She and Jamie shared an extraordinary marriage marked by partnership, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.
Ginny was known for her quick wit, her warmth, and her deep love of sports. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing tennis and golf, and she carried that passion throughout her life. When her children were young, she devoted herself fully to motherhood—driving from one practice to another, cheering from the sidelines, and making sure every child felt supported.
She found deep community at First Christian Church in Colorado Springs, where she was active in church life and especially loved being part of the choir.
Ginny is survived by her daughters, Diane Bertagni and Kim Grant; her granddaughter, Haley Dougherty; and her great‑grandchildren, Lainey and Harper. She is also survived by her brother, Walt Weissinger, who remained a loving presence throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jamie, and her sons, Donnie and Thom.
She will be remembered for her humor, her strength, her generosity, and the unwavering love she poured into her family. Her legacy lives on in the countless moments of laughter she inspired, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at First Christian Church at Bear Creek, 1380 S. 21st Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80904.
