IN CARE OF SUNSET FUNERAL CHAPEL
Ginger Jones, 79, of Naples Florida, passed away at Vitas Hospice on Monday February 23, 2026, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Ginger was born in Erie, Pennsylvania to John H. Hess and Virginia Wylot. Ginger is survived by two sons, David Sundeen (Wife Oah and Grandson Scott) of Auburndale Florida, and James Wyler (Wife Joy and Granddaughter Katelyn) of Pittsburg Pennsylvania. Ginger spent much of her young adult life in Brooklyn New York prior to relocating to Bonita Springs Florida in 1985. Ginger was hired as a dispatcher by the Naples Police Department on December 9, 1985. Not long after starting at NPD, she was promoted to Administrative Assistant. Ginger served in the Patrol, Training and Internal Affairs Division. Ginger had her thumb on the pulse of just about everything at the Department. Her experience and dedication to the City of Naples was evident by her supervisors often asking her for opinion and guidance on certain matters to include but not limited to The Annual Training Curriculum, Accreditation, The Field Training Program, Hiring and Recruiting to name a few. Ginger retired from the Naples Police Department on June 25, 2010.
Ginger loved the Police Officers and Staff at NPD. They were her Florida family! Ginger had a lot of friends, but her girlfriends from NPD were at the top of her list. She relished the luncheons that she, Kathy, Suzy, Sue, Linda, Lillian, Denise and others would go on frequently. Also, Ginger looked forward to going on the annual Christmas Shopping trip to the east coast with the girls. Yes, she loved those events if it did not conflict with a Dallas Cowboys Football game. She loved the Cowboys!
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Funeral Chappel with a Celebration of Life Service to be held at Sheppard of the Glades Lutheran Church located at 6020 Rattlesnake Hamock Road, Naples FL. 34113.
