Virginia "Ginny" Simmons (Curry), born on April 23, 1936, in Manhattan, New York, passed away on November 13, 2025, in Palm Beach, Florida. She was a longtime resident of both Palm Beach, Florida and Sewickley, Pennsylvania. Ginny is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Richard ("Dick") P. Simmons.

Born in New York to the late John F. and Virginia Curry, she received her early education at the Convent of the Sacred Heart and later graduated from Manhattanville College in New York. Her formative years instilled in her a lifelong commitment to service and learning—values she carried with her throughout her life. Ginny's philanthropic and charitable contributions to both Pittsburgh and Palm Beach together spanned almost 60 years. Ginny had a strong Catholic faith and was a Dame of Magistral Grace of the Order of Malta, Federal Association USA.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William P. Moyles and brother, John F. Curry, Jr. She leaves behind her sister Mary C. Kent. Ginny is survived by her loving husband, Dick Simmons and their blended family: daughters Virginia St. Pierre (Raymond), Margot Curran (Greg), Frances Fisher (Matt); stepchildren Brian Simmons (Julie) and Amy Sebastian (Sean); as well as thirteen beloved grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who brought immense joy to her life.

Ginny had a vibrant spirit and a wide array of interests. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge, often sharing laughter and camaraderie with friends on the course or around the card table. She meant the world to her family and her legacy is one of compassion, elegance and unwavering dedication to those she loved.

A funeral mass was held on November 17th at The Basilica of Saint Edward, Palm Beach, FL. A celebration of life in Sewickley, PA will be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Order of Malta, Federal Association USA: https://www.orderofmaltafederal.org or
