W L Saxton "Cookie" Cook, Jr., age 88, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025, in Brooksville, Florida. Born on August 15, 1937, in Tampa, Florida, he lived a full and vibrant life marked by service, family devotion, and a passion for beauty and exploration.

Cookie proudly served his country in the United States Navy, embodying a spirit of dedication and patriotism that remained with him throughout his life. After his military service, he continued to pursue his interests with enthusiasm and curiosity.

A man of many passions, Cookie was an avid traveler who found joy in discovering new places and experiences. He also had a keen eye for photography, capturing moments both grand and intimate through his lens. His love for nature was evident in his active membership with the Tampa Bay Orchid Society, where he nurtured a deep appreciation for the delicate beauty of orchids.

Family was central to Cookie’s life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Martha; his parents Delfina Parades Cook and W L Saxton Cook; his aunt Mary Parades Crook; and granddaughters Briana Evans, Stephanie Evans, and Jordan Evans. Though their absence was deeply felt, Cookie’s enduring love for them remained ever-present.

He is lovingly remembered by his children: Cathy (Donnie) Hudson, Michele (Wade) Evans, and Kevin (Dawn) Cook. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Steven (Nicole) Hudson; Travis Cook; Selene Cook; Rorden Cook; Anthony Evans; Augustan Cook; Gabriel Evans; and Avery Cook. He also leaves behind one great-grandchild, Gage Hudson. Cookie is survived by his cousin Carolina Ficarrotta and brother-in-law Herman (Eileen) Lopez.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Chapters Hernando Pasco Hospice for their compassionate care during Cookie’s final days. A special thank you is also given to Dr. Vivian Brasch and the dedicated staff at Optumcare Brooksville for their unwavering support.

May the memory of W L Saxton "Cookie" Cook, Jr.—his strength of character, love of family, and zest for life—bring comfort to all who knew him.
