Walter Harold Adams, 87, of Carthage, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, in Carthage. Born on November 1, 1938, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Leland Clark and Genevieve Harman Adams, Harold lived a full and meaningful life rooted in faith, family, and community.
Harold graduated from Holliday High School before continuing his education at Abilene Christian College, where he earned his degree in 1961. His dedication to learning and personal growth was a hallmark of his character throughout his life.
In 1964, Harold met Linda Bellow Adams, and they were married on June 5, 1965. Over the next sixty years they built a life filled with love, devotion, and commitment to the Lord's Church.
Harold was a proud father to his daughter Leah Adams Honeycutt (Kevin) of Carthage, Texas. He was also a loving grandfather to Hannah Honeycutt Lewis (Logan) of Vicksburg, Mississippi; Colton Honeycutt (fiancée Allison Brascom) of Marble Falls, Texas; Mason Walter Adams of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and Kirsten Kilburg (Seth) of Charlotte, Iowa. His legacy continues through his cherished great-grandchildren: Maelyn Lewis, Natalie Lewis, Jackson Honeycutt, Tripp Honeycutt, Holland Honeycutt, and Ida Kilburg.
He was predeceased by his parents and his beloved son Aaron Clark Adams. Despite this profound loss, Harold's unwavering faith provided him strength and comfort throughout his life.
A man of deep conviction and spirituality, Harold was a faithful Christian and an active member of the Tenaha Church of Christ. His commitment to his faith guided him in all aspects of life and served as an inspiration to those who knew him.
Harold found joy in the simple pleasures of life—fishing on quiet waters, playing golf under sunny skies, hunting in the great outdoors—and most importantly, spending time with family and friends. Known for his sense of humor and funny sayings that brought smiles to those around him, Harold had a unique ability to brighten any room he entered.
Harold's memory will be forever cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him. His kindness, humor, faithfulness, and love for others leave an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
