Walter Monning

Walter "Topper" Monning passed away peacefully in his home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026.

Walter was a lifelong enthusiast of muscle cars and could often be seen driving around town in one of his vintage Buicks. He had an exceptional ability to fix almost anything in the household and in his free time would often be seen in the kitchen cooking up delicious meals or baked goods to share with his family.
Walter was an animal lover who shared his home with his cat Kila, whom he affectionately called Mrs. Monning. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lucille Monning and his brother Richard Monning. Walter is survived by his children Marcy Monning, Walter Monning Jr., Carrie Davis, Jessica Monning and Kimberly Monning; and grandchild Nicole Dittmer.
