Walter Clarence Young—“Walt”— passed away on December 15, 2025, at the age of 79. Walt
lived in Waterloo, NY, and was born on August 28, 1946, in Clifton Springs, NY.
Walt was the kind of man you could count on: steady, hardworking, and deeply devoted to his
family. He spent more than 40 years with Hartman Metal (later known as Frazier Industrial),
working as a truck driver and metal fabricator—proud of what he built and the life he provided.
Walt was happiest doing the things he loved: hunting, fishing, holiday camping with family,
dancing with his wife, and honoring military men and women. But his favorite
thing—always—was time with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
Walt leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Sharon L. Young, and their family: Wally (Pauline)
Young, Tim (Kelly) Young, Tracy (Scott) Young-Ridley, and Alan Miracle. He is lovingly
remembered by his grandchildren Sarah (Jeff Rook) Young, Tim (Talia) Young, Nash Ridley,
Wally Young III, and Jesse Young; and by his great-grandchildren Emory Ray Rook and
Reed Walter Alon Young. He is also remembered fondly by his beloved canine companion,
Luke.
He is also survived by his brother Roger (Charlotte) Conklin and his sister Patricia Smith.
Walt was preceded in death by his mother Loretta Springer, father Walter Bielawski, and his
brother/sisters Phil Young, Judy Clark, and Carol Hearns.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 10th at the Waterloo Sportsman Club from 1:00PM - 5PM
