Wanda Kathryn Gibson

Wanda Kathryn Gibson (née McMillen), loving mother and wife, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2024, at the age of 81, at The Village of Germantown, in Germantown, Tennessee. She was predeceased by her parents Ellis Asbury McMillen and Ula Blanche McMillen (née Owens). She is survived by her beloved husband, Frank, her two sons, Todd and Anthony, her grandson, Samuel, her daughters-in-law, Miski and Merry, and her brother Wayne.

Wanda was born in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1944, at Baptist Hospital. She attended Guthrie Elementary and Middle School before attending and graduating from Humes High School in 1962. There, she met her future husband, Fank Gibson, whom she started dating soon after graduation. After a three-year courtship, they married in 1965, and, after moving multiple times for Frank's military service, started a family. Wanda worked in several roles but never abandoned her lifelong dream of earning a bachelor's degree, which she earned from the University of Memphis while in her 40s. She returned to work and ultimately served as an administrative assistant at Baptist Hospital's pastoral care. There, she was able to fulfill her passion for helping people in their time of need. In retirement, she took the opportunity to travel both domestically and internationally and enjoy time with her grandson.

Visitation will be at Crossroads Baptist Church, 125 Houston Levee Road, Eads, Tennessee 38028, on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, 12pm-2pm, with funeral services to follow at 2pm at Crossroads Baptist Church. Following funeral services, the graveside committal will take place at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
